- The feminisation of companies’ management committees has accelerated, driven by legislation and powerful social phenomena.
- Companies are adapting rapidly to this acceleration by setting targets and deploying resources to support women in their new responsibilities.
- This greater gender diversity is giving rise to new, more “human” and distributive leadership philosophies and practices, which sometimes seem to imply a “female style of leadership.”
- But the idea of gendered leadership does not hold up when we look at practice and research, which are seeing the emergence of “authentic” leadership: a real conversation between the leader’s values and those of the company.
- This “authentic” leadership lays the foundations for developing an inclusive, trusted workspace between employees, who can then give the best of themselves and contribute fully to the company’s performance.
