Feminisation moves into second gear
AN INCREASE
This is the percentage of women on CAC 40* executive committees, even though they represent 37.09% of executives (vs. 6.3% of women and 28.12% of executives in 2008).
MUSICAL CHAIRS
men sit on CAC 40 executive committees. The effect of “adding more chairs to the table” has given way to “replacing men with women”. Between 2021 and 2022, the higher percentage of women on executive committees was solely due to the increase in the number of women (from 102 in 2021 to 129 in 2022), while the number of men remained stable (411 in 2021; 412 in 2022). But between 2022 and 2023, the rise in the number of women (+10, totalling 139) was accompanied by a fall in the number of men on executive committees (-23, totalling 389). Men have been partially replaced by women.
